Our New Program: SLI

Strategic Leadership & Innovation - The Israeli Model

SLI is a unique three day experience to go behind the scenes to learn and to see how Israel has become world renowned as the "Start-Up Nation."  RJL, a US based not-for-profit organization, is assisting Tel Aviv University, recently ranked the #1 University in Israel, to provide an educational and experiential Program in the Homeland of the Jewish people.  Participants learn how the small country of Israel has become a world leader in high-tech, bio-tech and green-tech.

Topics addressed in meetings with leading entrepreneurs, company visits, and classroom sessions taught by premier faculty of the Recanati School of Management at Tel Aviv University include:

  • How highly successful entrepreneurs are "Making it happen!"
  • How innovation is driven by Jewish philosophy
  • Israel economics and demographics: yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
  • Cultural aspects of creativity
  • Entrepreneurship mindsets

Participants have three growth opportunities:

Personal:  Each participant can enhance his/her understanding of the origins and expressions of innovation in the Jewish mindset and in Israeli mentality.  You gain state-of-the-art knowledge and acquire tools for personal and business application.

Group/Community:  The learning process and unique experiences strengthen the ties between participants, enhance future prospects for collaboration and strengthen the group's Jewish identity.

Israel:  While every visit to Israel is a special experience, SLI is an exceptional journey to the frontiers of Israeli innovation and change, opening new gateways to deepen one's connection to the land and to the people.

Upon the successful completion of the full SLI Program, participants are awarded an official Certificate from Tel Aviv University. (Dates on the certificate are an example.)

Classic ReNEWed Jewish Leaders Program

In leading their synagogues and organizations, Jewish Leaders are faced with an increasingly challenging and complex set of responsibilities.  State-of-the-art, professional management skills have become imperative.

The Classic ReNEWed Jewish Leaders Program enables rabbis and other Jewish leaders to acquire and apply these skills to their day-to-day functioning as well as to better achieve their long-term goals.  The Program is instructed by senior research-based Ph.D. professors who have won outstanding teaching awards at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.* These professors, who teach every cohort, have garnered the highest satisfaction ratings from participants as reflected on the Testimonials pages.

The curriculum focuses on the disciplines of Leadership and Strategy, Managing Change, Marketing, Fundraising, Financial Management, Managing People and Teams, Conflict Resolution, and Optimizing your Internet Usage.

Rabbis requests for a specialized Executive Education Program led to the development of the Classic RJL Program in 2008.  Since then, more than 400 Jewish Leaders -- the majority, Synagogue Rabbis -- have participated in five RJL cohorts.  These colleagues came together from all regions of the US, as well as Canada, the UK, and Latin America.
